The Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) is the biggest convention of the best cosplayers in the MENA region, with thousands of fans preparing in anticipation every year.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Middle East Film and Comic Con 2021 was a no show in the UAE and most of the world, but it’s coming back bigger than ever in 2022 and Aramex is the proud official logistics partner.

Combining both pop and geek culture, MEFCC brings in many genres and media, shown in the cosplay costumes. Cosplayers dress up as a character from a book, film or video game, usually from a Japanese genre manga or anime.
It can get competitive and while most goers are there for celebrity appearances, live entertainment, workshops and shopping, others are showing their best skills in dressing up as their favorite characters.

This beautiful family of Marvel and Anime characters from Thor Ragnarok’s Hella (far left) to a vast range of anime characters that are cosplayed, are showing us that it’s safe to say that this is fun at any age.

Carol Danvers a.k.a Captain Marvel is the most underrated superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain Marvel is by far the most powerful. Boasting abilities like superhuman strength, speed, energy manipulation, durability and flight. She can truly do it all.

Channeling Heath Ledger’s Joker. We see the growing interest in cosplaying the multi-layered DC Comic villain after the release of Joker back in 2019. Joaquin Phoenix’s character portrayal is winning cosplayer hearts.

We love this local take on Maleficent from the Disney film, played by Angelina Jolie and portraying the famous villain from Sleeping Beauty.

Okoye from Black Panther portrayed by The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira. Okoye is the general of the Dora Milaje defending Wakanda alongside the Black Panther. Her abilities include, master martial art and hand-to-hand combat. This cosplayer is showing off the character and it’s full glory and we are here for it.

An adorable take on the Anime character Sailor Moon. The Japanese shojo manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi, follows the adventures of schoolgirl Usagi Tsukino as she transforms into Sailor Moon, in search of the mystical artifact “Legendary Silver Crystal”. She leads a group of soldiers called Sailor guardians.

Don’t get caught in this Spiderman’s web-shooters! Cosplaying as Miles Morales’ Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse. The film is the first animation feature in the MCU and the first one of its kind in the Spider-Man franchise. His abilities include superhuman strength, web-shooting, clinging onto solid surfaces and resistance to injury.

This Stormtrooper and Kylo Ren are ready for anything coming their way. Introduced in Star Wars (1977), the stormtroopers are the soldiers shock troops/space marines of the Galactic Empire, under the leadership of Emperor Palpatine and his commanders, most notably Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin, during the original film trilogy (1977–1983). Kylo Ren is a fictional character and a major antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. Introduced first in the 2015 film The Force Awakens, he is portrayed by Adam Driver.

With its continuation of the original space opera, the latest trilogy introduces newer characters and cosplaying opportunity from its franchises like Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018). When you’re dying your hair you’re a true fan like this one who is perfecting Roronoa Zoro, also known as “Pirate Hunter” Zoro – a fictional character in the One Piece franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. Zoro is uniquely known as an expert of Santōryū (Three Sword Style), where he wields a third sword with his mouth in combat.
